UNC vs VT
For the second week in a row UNC played a Thursday night ESPN primetime game. The heels came into this game as a big underdog playing the 13th ranked team in the nation in one of the toughest places to play espically at night. The Hokies had won 15 of the last 16 home games. The Tar Heels came into this game determined to win, and the Heels showed the nation what they can do. The Tar Heels started the game with a big turnover while the Hokies were driving. The Heels offense started clicking for the first time vs a quality opponent. TJ Yates threw a jump ball into the right corner of the endzone as Jheraine Boyd came down with it for the Heels to take the lead right before halftime. The Hokies came out playing much better in the second half. The Hokies scored first in the second half then the Heels answered with a touchdown to Greg Little. The Hokies then responded with a touchdown of their own. On the next drive Yates was rushed and threw an interception inside the 25 yard line of the Heels. The Hokies were stopped on a goal line stand, and had to settle with a field goal. The Heels made a 25 yard field goal to tie the game with 2:02 left in the game. On 3rd and 8 the Hokies handed the ball off to their star running back who fumbled the ball with a little over a minute, Deunta Willams picked the ball up and was stopped at about the 23. Casey Barth came into the game to kick the game winning field goal with 2 seconds left. He made the field goal and the Heels won. It was a great victory for the UNC football game.
